Reuters: Nokia is burning money too fast and they might even default
Nokia had more than 10 billion Euros in their piggy bank in 2007, the year that the iPhone came out. Today that figure stands at less than half that. What’s most troubling is that Nokia lost 2.1 billion Euros during the past five quarters alone. If this rate of erosion continues, then things could get ugly. According to analysts who have spoken to Reuters, Nokia is at risk of running out of money in just two years. On average, the analysts that were polled say that Nokia will burn through an additional 2 billion Euros over the next three quarters. Only the most cynical believe that Nokia will default on their debt, but then again even the most negative commentators have been wrong in predicting just how bad things would get for the Finnish handset maker.
So say everything goes to hell in a handbasket, what next? Right

Samsung Focus 2 hands-on and unboxing
Both ATT’s LTE network and Windows Phone 7 as a whole are coming into their own, and it’s about time that they had a budget option. Luckily, the Samsung Focus 2 handily fits into both these categories. With modest but appreciated improvements and a rock-bottom $50 price tag, it’s sure to find a few WP7 convents when it launches later this month. Should you be among them? We’ll have a review up in a few days, but for now you cn check out our hands-on photos and video. The Focus 2 would have been a high-end device about two years ago, and still manages to present a better front than most of the field below $100. Samsung’s been making touch-based smartphones for a long time (and a lot of them, too) and knows how to make a device feel welcoming. It”s not the Čítaj ďalej: http://feeds.slashgear.com/~r/slashgear/~3/B0XU9F-zmg4/

Voyager Mobile delays its launch due to hackers
A report out of Mobile Burn (Dan Seifert) indicates that a new cellular service set to launch today will see a bit of a delay. Voyager Mobile is one of the many mobile virtual network operator (MNVO) that runs on Sprint’s 3G CDMA and 4G WiMax networks. Voyager Mobile was all set to launch their network today, but issued a statement today claiming that its main website has undergone “a malicious attack” which resulted in the service postponing today’s launch.
Voyager Mobile bills itself as a low-cost mobile alternative, offering unlimited mobile service for as low as $19 per month without so much as a credit, background check, or contract commitment. Voyager Mobile is unique in that it will be offering high-end smartphone devices such as the Galaxy S II, which Sprint bills as the Epic 4G Touch. It will also offer a

Dressed in Metro, LinkedIn looks good on Windows Phone (screenshots)
Good news, Windows Phone owners. Professional social network LinkedIn, in its quest to master mobile, has released another stunning mobile application — but this one is just for you.
The application, the company’s first official release for the platform, is a full-featured release that plays perfectly with the Windows Phone operating system, and even incorporates the unique Microsoft Metro style and design. (Check out our gallery of screenshots below.)
And, as a little bonus gift, LinkedIn said that the Windows Phone application offers users more functionality in the companies and jobs sections than it offers in its apps for iOS and Android.
“You can find and connect with millions of professionals worldwide, quickly access a real-time update stream with news and information from your professional connections, read timely news impacting your industry, keep up-to-date with your professional groups, search for jobs, and follow your favorite companies’ news,”

LinkedIn lands on Windows Phone
Popular professional social media service LinkedIn has launched a Windows Phone application. The application went live over the weekend (May 12th, to be exact), and has already amassed some positive reviews on the Windows Phone Marketplace. It seems Windows Phone users are happy to finally have a client that is markedly better than using the mobile version of LinkedIn’s website.
Of course, there are some bugs with the 1.0 version release; the first market rating (as of this writing) notes that the “display is sideways” and that he keeps receiving “Oops, something happened” error messages. Of course, such bugs with initial releases are to be expected, and the overall impression from the market ratings is that LinkedIn has come up with an awesome application for Windows Phone users. LinkedIn allows you to view profiles, groups, jobs, and other company information from within the application, giving you access to all
