Video: 14 minutes and 45 seconds of pure Galaxy S III verus One X mayhem

Announced back in February at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, HTC’s One X has been out on the market for a little over a month now. Two weeks ago Samsung announced their 2012 flagship in London, the Galaxy S III, and it’ll be on store shelves in 12 days. Which one should you get? That’s an incredibly difficult question to answer since it’s highly subjective. Some might prefer the One X for the design, while others prefer having a removable battery and the microSD slot on the Galaxy S III. Some might actually want to use HTC Sense, while other people see Sense and then run to the nearest bathroom so they can purge themselves. What better way to compare these two magnificent creatures than by putting them head to head in a video that’s nearly 15 minutes long! Here’s what the folks at

Facebook Apps to Boost Lagging Mobile Profits

As Facebook’s IPO approaches, the company is aggressively pursuing ways to monetize its more than 400 million mobile users. When users access the site on personal computers, they see ads, which generate revenue, but Facebook’s mobile app has no means to do so just yet, and the company is prepping to plug the hole.

Forrester Research predicts apps will generate $38 billion by 2015, so Facebook could gain a substantial revenue stream if it is able to jump full-throttle into the market.

Facebook hinted at its intentions to create an app store at the Mobile World Congress this year, partnering with a group of carriers and mobile device makers to encourage standardizing Web browsing, a move positioning the company to open its App Center.

Partnerships with popular sites like Pinterest, eBay and Foursquare may help generate interest in Facebook’s app store and propel the company’s monetizing effort. Still, many mobile users

Leak: HTC Desire C: Think of it as a baby One X that’s a low end One V

HTC revealed three devices at Mobile World Congress in February. The flagship One X, which ships with a quad core processor in Europe and Asia, but a dual core processor in America; the midrange One S, which has an amazing body, but a PenTile display; and the budget One V, which is the 2012 version of the 2010 hit that was the HTC Legend. According to ITProPortal, there’s going to be a device that’s even cheaper than the One V called the Desire C. The design language is eerily similar to the HTC One X, but gone is that beautiful 4.7 inch 720p display; It’s been replaced by a 3.2 inch screen that pushes 480 x 320 pixels. No word about the camera, but we do know that there’s a 1 GHz processor on board, half a gigabyte of RAM, it runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream

Skype finally moves out of beta on Windows Phone

Microsoft has released version 1.0 of Skype for Windows Phone, thus fulfilling a promise the company made at Mobile World Congress to move the app out of beta by April.

The new version includes a new feature that lets you search your contacts and add them on Skype. Other improvements include the ability to call landline phone numbers, a quicker boot time, and other bug fixes. It also includes all the Skype basics such as audio and video calls over 3G, 4G, and Wi-Fi, and group messaging.

However, you still can’t receive Skype calls while the app isn’t running on your phone. Apparently this is because of limitations within the Windows Phone OS and Skype, according to Microsoft. Hopefully this will change with the release of Windows Phone 8. This kind of functionality could really be a key selling point for Microsoft to gain some footing over Android phones.
