Samsung adds T-Mobile handsets to its ICS upgrade list
Samsung is adding four T-Mobile smartphones and tablets to the selection of devices that are eligible receive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich via an OTA update. Upgrading the Samsung Galaxy S II, Galaxy S Blaze 4G, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, and Galaxy Tab 10.1 to ICS have all been added to Samsung’s to-do list.
In April, Samsung released the full list of all devices it planned on giving the Ice Cream Sandwich treatment. This included smartphones and tablets on ATT, Verizon, Sprint, and WiFi-based devices. There was a conspicuous absence of T-Mobile devices, however. Where the T-Mobile upgrades should have been displayed, a message from Samsung was present that read: “We are in close communication with T-Mobile to ensure that eligible devices are upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in the coming months and will provide updates as we have additional details to share.”

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Review
This week we’ve gotten the next Galaxy Player family member in the house with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. What’s that, you say? The Galaxy Tab 2 is a tablet and not a Galaxy Player? I beg to differ, ladies and gentlemen, as the Samsung world has done a big split in recent months, with no less than the Galaxy Tab 2 line heading in the direction of the media player while the Galaxy Note line (including the 10.1, for example) moves in the direction the Galaxy Tab 10.1 original started in back at Google I/O in 2011. Have a peek at what the Tab 2 line continues here in the 2 10.1 for the media world.
This device works with a wide variety of Samsung applications made perfect for the Galaxy Tab 2 and Galaxy Player lineup including AllShare, Čítaj ďalej: http://feeds.slashgear.com/~r/slashgear/~3/MHch-uyYJ5g/

How Samsung Can Overtake Apple
The South Korean company raked in record profits topping $5 billion by using shrewd tactics, timing the release of its products before Apple’s launch. Samsung, which makes about third of what Apple pulls in, plans to keep up the strategy, by selling its Galaxy S3, equipped with a faster quad-core chip, ahead of Apple’s iPhone 5.
“Samsung and Apple are out-competing most major rivals, and the smartphone market is at risk of becoming a two-horse race,” explained analyst Neil Mawston, comparing Samsung’s 30 percent smartphone market share with Apple’s nearly 25 percent hold, which dwarfs other competitors.
In addition, Samsung is making inroads in China, helping Android beat out Apple in the region despite high iPhone and iPad demand. The company’s success lies largely from contracts it signed with all the major Chinese telecoms, including China Mobile, to gain a broader reach over Apple in Asia. By getting more

How Samsung Can Beat Apple
The South Korean company raked in record profits topping $5 billion, buoyed by strong smartphone sales.
Samsung, which makes about third of what Apple pulls in, uses shrewd tactics to time the release of powerful new products to pushing sales of existing devices. The company is gearing up to launch the Galaxy S3, equipped with a powerful quad-core chip, doubling the speed of its popular S2 and hitting shelves before the iPhone 5.
Samsung, which sold over 44 million smartphones this quarter without help from a new flagship device, expects to see earnings increase further once the S3 goes on the market.

Apple jabs new Samsung Tab in Germany
It appears that Apple is not satisfied with the changes Samsung has made to its Galaxy Tab line over in Germany this month as the Galaxy Tab 10.1N, modified from the 10.1 with no N, still infringes on the iPad’s form and purpose – so they say. This same claim for the original Galaxy Tab has already taken hold in some other parts of the world and Apple has indeed succeeding in banning the 10.1 version of Samsung’s tablet line for brief periods of time in the past – this time though, it’s after Samsung took steps to avoid such a suit specifically. Will the Tab 10.1N, with its front-facing speakers and all, be able to avoid the Apple hammer in Deutschland?
The case is currently set for June 5th of this year, Čítaj ďalej: http://feeds.slashgear.com/~r/slashgear/~3/UMQRWkzGra4/
