Samsung Galaxy S II shipments hit 20 million in 9 months
The Samsung sales team must be popping bottles of champagne tonight as the Samsung Galaxy S II has been announced to have sold 20 million units since the line’s launch in May. This number matches the sales of the original Galaxy S, this making the total number of “Galaxy” devices well past 40 million putting a reasonable dent in the 300 million Android devices in the world at the moment total. Samsung, as I’m sure you’re aware, is more than confident that they’re going to continue to do well through 2012. This week’s announcement of the 20 million mark comes after quite a few different variations of the Galaxy S II have been announced and released throughout the USA and abroad, including but not limited to the ATT Galaxy S II, the longest name in the book Galaxy S II Epic 4G Čítaj ďalej: http://feeds.slashgear.com/~r/slashgear/~3/_okLGg85FGs/

Obama Consumer Privacy Bill of Rights announced and detailed
One month and three days after Consumer Watchdog called President Obama to endorse “Do Not Track” and online privacy legislation during his State of the Union address, the President has proposed a Consumer Privacy Bill of Rights. The White House has called upon Congress to pass legislation that will allow the FTC Federal Trade Commission as well as state attorney generals to support and enforce the framework of this bill. This bill will act as a guard for consumers rights, allowing consumers to say when, if, and how their personal information is both collected and used online.
This bill will also require businesses to be as transparent as possible about their data use practices as well, pushing businesses to further assure consumers that they’ve either not used their data at all or, if they have, that it’s appropriately secured. The Mu folding plug re-revealed and detailed
This week a fabulous new device which takes the undeniably fat design of the modern wall plug anf folds it down to a much more flat and much more transportable card. This design at the moment works only with the UK version of the wall plug, but the application to multiple plugs across the earth is not difficult to see. Once you have a peek, and see how simple it is to flip the plug you know so well down to a disk of great transportability, you’ll come to understand the simplicity of the truth!
This design has been made a a prototype and brought on tour for quite some time now, only released to the general public very recently due to its availability coming this year. Back in 2009 the folks at the BBC had a peek at this design with Min-Kyu Čítaj ďalej: http://feeds.slashgear.com/~r/slashgear/~3/HG1yyZr-dFM/

Forget Embarrassment, I’d Wear Google’s AR Glasses
I’m a geek, an early-adopter and a lover of science-fiction; I also have relatively little shame: of course I’m the ideal target audience for Google Glasses. If the rumors are to be believed, Google’s wily engineers have used their “20-percent time” to cook up some Android-powered digital goggles, overlaying augmented reality data onto the real-world view. The first generation is likely to be oversized and expensive, but I’ll still probably buy them anyway and wear them with pride. Here’s why, and what I think Google needs to do if its Google Glasses are to succeed.
Picture the scene: I’m at an glamorous MWC industry garden party. The team from The Verge are sitting in a clandestine huddle, muttering about a brave new world of blogging. The Gizmodo team are loitering near the bar tent, keeping an eye Čítaj ďalej: http://feeds.slashgear.com/~r/slashgear/~3/F4XspNhMr0Q/

Borderlands 2 release date and platforms revealed
This week there’s one game that has everyone in the console gaming world flipping out: Borderlands 2, and today’s the day we find out exactly when and on what the game will be delivered. In addition to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 formats available in North America on the 18th of September, there’ll also be a PC version released the same day. After that, the international release will take place on the same units all at the same time three days later.
This role-playing hybrid first person shooter space western game has one of the most undeniably exciting game trailers we’ve ever seen, and if the “billion” guns doesn’t get you going, the graphic design splashes and Wall-E dubstep certainly will. The original 2009 name had only one competitor in the works since it was released: and that’s this: 2K Games follow-up, Čítaj ďalej: http://feeds.slashgear.com/~r/slashgear/~3/WgrMookhbgE/
